Hi- I ordered the Hidrex PC. I started my first treatment today for my palms; I was only able to tolerate 10 V for 15 min. Hopefully I'll get used to the tingling sensation and can increase the volt. I have a few questions:
1- What % of people get an increase in sweat before they see a difference in sweat reduction?
2- If I do the treatments everyday for a week then stop, will the sweating return to my baseline or will it be more than before?
3- How often are you supposed to change polarity and how do you do that?
4- I noticed it's hard during treatment for the thumb to come fully in contact with the water. any suggestions?
I plan on treating my palms everyday for 15 min. Any other suggestions to achieve success. Thank you. I appreciate your support!!! |

Hi RA,
Yes, the skin needs some time to get used to the current.
To your questions:
1- Many of our customers have an increase in sweating before they experience a reduction. It´s normal, there´s no need to worry.
2- Only 1 week of initial treatment might be too less. Please read the following links about this topic https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/introduction-to-iontophoresis-initial-treatment-t326.html and https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/introduction-to-iontophoresis-maintenance-treatment-t25.html
3- It´s ok if you change polarity every week. Black cable is -pole and red cable is +pole. For the firstweek you have your right hand on the electrode that´s connected to the red cable and your left hand on the electrode that´s connected to the black cable. After 5 sessions you just switch, and after another week you switch again, and so on!
You may follow also this:
Iontophoresis automatical polarity switch
4- To avoid having to increase the water level to be able to cover the thumb, please read also this link about it https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/how-high-shall-i-fill-in-the-water-in-the-trays-t145.html
Make sure you do your initial treatments until you´re dry, this might take longer than 1 week. Before that, it doesn´t make sense to start maintenance therapy! _________________ You are welcome...

Hi again, I have two more questions please:
1- If I do 2 treatments per day, example 20 min in the morning and 20 min in the evening, would i get faster results? Would you recommend this or will there be side effects?
2- Is there a way to “close the circuit” if I’m treating only one hand at a time? (ie. if I place my hand on one side of the tray, how could I close the circuit if I don’t plan on treating my other hand?).
Thanks again for the support!! |

1 ) Sure, increased times normally have increased effects (and side effects), if the skin is ok when doing extended treatments there should be nothing against it.
2) You can put the electrodes near each other (in a bigger bowl) - with a 1 cm distance and then placing a wet towel over them, with this you can treat only 1 palm. _________________ You are welcome...
