Hello Markus,
In one of the posts, you made the comment that "AC is not the right word for the current used, it is PC for 'PulsedCurrent', or correctly it is PDC 'Pulsed Direct Current'. PulsedCurrent or PulsedDirectCurrent are both direct currents."
Because the Idromed PS is "pulsed" rather than "continuous" - does this mean that treatment times with PS should be longer than with a GS? If so, do you suggest treating hands at more than 15 minutes per day? Please clarify & Thanks! |

You are technically correct regarding the time (but only if the treatment current is at the max). The current is "interrupted", so this means that there is a little pulse between the 2 peaks. It is like in a computer with 1 and 0 or on and off switches .
When you have 25 mA on the display, then at state 1 you got 25 mA and at state 0 you get 0 mA. By design, the 1 state is much longer than the 0 state, so there is only a little current loss, which has negligible effect on treatment success. The offset of the pulse is important for the functionality, but rest assured that you are not getting any significant net drop in treatment power. _________________ You are welcome...

Sure you can treat your hands and feet as long as you want, if you think it is necessary.
However, more than 1 hour a day is generally too much and doesn't result in a better outcome in my opinion. _________________ You are welcome...

Markus, thanks much for the clarification. I am just trying to understand the device so that I can utilize it more effectively.
Because Iontophoresis can have such varied results, I think it is best to learn as much about it as possible. That is why I urge forum readers to share experiences so that we can use this great device with even more effectiveness. |
