Hi all,
Just having a random problem crop up, and I'm glad I found this board. Good to know there are others out there like me! I used a Hidrex 400, and I've had great results over the last 4 years. 100% dryness. At one point, I was up to 35 minutes on the 35 setting, doing fine. Lately, I've been getting strange burns on my hands. (Never on my feet, oddly.) Not blisters, but inflamed cracks. I stopped for about 15 days, thinking my hand needed a rest. But when I went back, even on a low setting, like 20 for 20 minutes, the pain immediately returned.
Now, I have to lather half my hand in vaseline just to get one meager session in.
Any thoughts as to what went wrong? Is my machine too old? Corroded plates?
Your thoughts are appreciated. |

Aluminium, I think. Actually, I've never cleaned the metal plates. The trays, of course. Could this be it? |

Hello, thanks for the pics. Yes, the plates, specially the ones on the left side (I assume those are the aluminum ones) are in very bad shape. The other ones also don't look so godod. Do you get the burns no matter which plates you use?
Anyway, I would suggest you buy a new set of plates, doesn't matter if aluminum or stainless steel. And then, please clean them about once every 2 weeks, to have them last longer! _________________ You are welcome...

I think you're right!
Thanks for all the advice. I cleaned all the plates, and then used the only the stainless steel plates for my hands. BIG difference! I'll probably order a new set now.
THANK YOU, so much. I was literally planning on buying a new machine. This will save me a substantial amount of money.
Much appreciated. |
