Hello,
I'm interested in purchasing the Idromed 5 PC product. I live in the United States and would like to know if I need an adaptor plug to operate this machine? If so where can I purchase one. Also, what is the risk of electric shock with this device?

There is no risk of electric shocks.
For use in the U.S you have to buy the step-up-converter for the Idromed.
