Below is the feedback I originally posted on a hyperhydrosis yahoo-groups site 2 years ago after I first bought the Idromed4.

An update since then - I have continued to use the device and have excellent results. Admittedly it does get a bit annoying to have to get the kit out and set up (ideally I would leave it set up-on a table, but due to lack of space and not wanting to advertise the condition to guests I keep it packed away), although we are talking just a few minutes to set up and put away. What I tend to do is to set it up before watching a video or TV and keep the treatment going for about 1-1.5 hrs (eg maybe 3-4 20 minute sessions with a few minutes break in-between each to give my hands a break). I find that 1-1.5 hours per week is all I need to keep my hands dry and pain/irritation-free. Of course sometimes I do not stick to this rigidly but in that case I feel the old symptoms starting to come back about 10days after my last hour-long session and it reminds me that any hassle in applying the treatment is incredibly minor compared to the inconvenience of palmar hyperhidrosis. (Note, the instructions say that you should carry out the treatment for 15 minutes and do it regularly eg every day. I'm sure this is a better way to do it than one 60-90 minute session every week, but both seem to work, for me anyway, and I have no ill effects on my hands whatsoever after doing this for over 2 years).

BTW, I have still not tried using it on my feet or under my armpits. My hands were by far my biggest priority and with them sorted I find I can live with the other areas (although my feet sweat quite a bit I wear high-cotton-content sports socks and natural-fibre shoes where possible to make this less of a problem; as for underarm sweating, it is a pain but I tend to wear blacks or whites to minimise sweat patch obviousness.)

In summary: IF HYPERHYDROSIS IS GETTING YOU DOWN YOU HAVE NO-ONE BUT YOURSELF TO BLAME AS THE CURE IS HERE. I HONESTLY DIDNT THINK I WOULD EVER FIND A CURE BUT I HAVE AND THIS IS IT.

Best Regards.

Here is what I posted 2 yrs ago:

Hi,
I am 31 yrs old and have been suffering from hyperhydrosis all my
life. Have tried everything short of surgery - various creams,
lotions etc., tablets, even botox in the hands which was very
expensive and painful. None of this worked and I thought I was stuck
with this awful condition for ever. I had also tried iontophoresis
about 7 yrs ago - I bought the Drionic but after a few sessions it
didnt seem to work (infact only seemed to make my hands more
irritated) and even had ionotphoresis done in a hospital on the NHS
once a week for a few weeks, but again no improvement.

Didnt touch the Drionic again for a number of yrs until a few months
back. I read a post on this website from someone who said that you
need to use if for at least about 10hrs before your hands stop
sweating (whoever wrote that posting THANK YOU SO MUCH!). So i did
this over a course of a few days, and a few days later (seems to
take a couple of days for the iontophoresis to kick in, during which
the irritation to hands made them sweat even more than normal) PARTS
OF MY HANDS WERE DRY!!!! Felt amazing! However, due to the design of
the Drionic, it really only works on the lower palm and the
fingertips, so about half of my hands were still sweating.

Anyway, having seen that iontophoresis did actually work, I then did
more research and found the following website:

https://www.iontodevice.com/

I bought the Idromed4 a few weeks back. IT WORKS A TREAT!! My hands
are now completely dry and it feels wonderful. I used if for about
half an hour to an hour daily and within about 10 days my hands were
awesome. I only need to use it for an hour or two each weekend now
to maintain the dry hands. It can be used for feet also, and I
bought the attachment for armpits, but havent got round to using
these yet - by far my priority was my hands.

OK, its not cheap - 470 euros, but if hand sweats are really getting
you down like they were me, its DEFINITELY worth it.

The company is German and run by a guy called Markus Bindner. I
spoke to him on the phone when ordering this and he is a nice guy
and speaks pretty well fluent English.

Anyway, thought I'd write this to help other people who are really
down about hyperhydrosis - you can do something about it, pretty
easily! And it feels so good to have constantly dry hands for the
first time.

Some notes from experience:

Unlike the Drionic, the Idromed4 is mains operated so dont need to
keep buying batteries (and its German engineering - top notch).
(Latter really is in a different league to the Drionic - would
strongly recommend it over the Drionic, even if it is 2 or 3 times
more expensive)

You may need a mains adapter to adapt from European power plug to
other types - you can get hold of one of these for a few pounds at
any electical store

An extension lead might be useful. The Idromed4 comes with a foot
switch but the cable from this to the mains isnt very long. Again a
few pounds at an electrical store.

Otherwise all you need is water!

All the best.
P.
