|
|
I've completed 12 hands and feet sessions with my new Idromed 5 PC.
There's about 2 cms of water in each tank.
The point where air and water meet at the top of my fingers is unpleasantly painful.
Is this pain normal?
I'm using 5 mA for my hands and about 10 mA for my feet.
Should I keep lowering the current below 5 mA for my hands?
I'm worried that if I lower the current any further the device will not be effective, and I presume the treatment must be longer.
Suggestions? |

Sometimes. The body needs some time to get used to the current. ´Good that you have a PC device and not d DC one.
I'm using 5 mA for my hands and about 10 mA for my feet.

There is a simple rule: When it hurts, reduce!!!
I'm worried that if I lower the current any further the device will not be effective, Trial/Error and I presume the treatment must be longer. Maybe. I would say: Go ahead with the treatment with current levels below the "IT HURTS!!!" feel and you will soon be able to achieve higher settings automatically. Treat the next 14 days with this rule, if you have no success pls mail me again.
Maybe, you have to determine yourself. For some useres 1 mA is enough , some need 25 mA.

Thanks. I will try less water and use a lower current. I'll let you know how I get on. |

jackal, Please give me a large success story at the board.
Howw high is the water? Try to reduce it to almost covering the grids, in this case you don't have the joint in the water, right?
And: don't use vaseline- use nivea cream (the blue box) instead - 100x better! _________________ You are welcome...

so far Ive been using about 1.75 liters in each tub and it covers the joints but barely....I'll reduce it so that it only covers the mesh grids and not my finger joints - that would be pretty low (maybe 1 liter per tub or something) |

I think jackal was probably referring to me (good luck to you jackal). I want to wait until the end of the first cycle of sessions, then if everything keeps going well I'll certainly write a success story.
Do you believe nivea would do for my case (see above)? Doesn't it dissolve with water?

Hi luca - you are right- now I see it too, nope nivea blue (baby cream - no lotion) didn't dissolve...

OK, something is definitely not right. I lowered the water level to about .5 liter per tub (where the water reaches just halfway on the sides of fingers) and although it felt good at first, the negative side brought a lot of pain again at the same spot in my hand (no matter which hand)....what's going on here??
Is my body becoming MORE sensitized??!! it doesnt make sense since i went 9 sessions without feeling this pain at all...
or is my unit defective - the fact that the negative is stronger is also a factor that makes me think this... |

I think this spot is really sensitive now, because the body remembers the pain.
have you used nivea?
Lower the water till it just covers the mesh. _________________ You are welcome...

I wanted to say that 1 cm of water for my hands and 3 cms for my feet along with the "blue" Nivea (when necessary due to cuts/abrasions) works a treat. It's interesting to see how different we all are regarding our tolerances. I can barely tolerate 3 or 4 mA for my hands. Although I understand that the conductivity of the local water plays an important role, oddly enough, I'm having to reduce the current with successive treatments!
I too have, on the odd occasion, experienced a stronger sensation of current at the negative electrode side - it doesn't bother me, though. I'm just happy to have dry hands&feet and to continue with my once every 3 days maintenance sessions. |

Thank you detti for your input. I just went through with todays session (12th) and I also can barely stand higher settings for my hands (i had it on 4ma and it hurt again, only on the negative electrode side and only at a very specific site on my hand....I'm baffled by this as my first 8-9 sessions I used 15ma and had no pain in either hand!!
maybe the plates need to be cleaned??? What kind of "commercial, non-scouring detergent" should I use? I'm so lost.. |

No you don't need to clean the plates now, only if the device could not reach the wished mA settings.

jackal, I've never heard such a thing las you describe. Do you thnk it is maybe defect, right. So do this: try to treat the feet. is it the same uncomfortable feel at the - pole? surely not.
Maybe you should take a break of 4-5 days and then start again with low settings _________________ You are welcome...

OK, so yesterday I used nivea cream to protect the sore parts and didn't feel any pain whatsoever at 17 mA. Markus, you're a genius! Thank you. |

14th session
Ok, so I havent tried the foot test yet, Markus, but I went through with the session today anyway on my hands (i dont have the willpower to take a break) and as soon as the same pain came back (in the same place) i applied the blue nivea cream abundantly to that area and I also was able to go through with the session at 10ma...
as for the positive, I seem to be from the group of people that experiences a gradual decreasing of sweat rather than an abrupt halt overnight.
Ive noticed in the past 2 weeks that either my sweat frequency or concentration of sweat has gone down a bit. I dont think its my imagination. Still praying for 100% dryness and keeping the faith. Will keep you updated.
ps - is there anything I can do to speed up the process (baking soda maybe?) |

Just try to prolong the time up to an hour and the mA....
Go ahead with the nivea, maybe you can put cream in the spot that hurts + 2cm to increase the current further.
A little bit of less sweating is not enough , what counts is a 100% stop, but it is a good sign that you've noticed an improvement, so we are on the right track... _________________ You are welcome...

OK so after 19 days and roughly 30 sessions, my hands are now about 80% dry! Some areas are dryer than others on the palm... I'm definitely from the group that has diminishing or decreasing sweat rather than an immediate stop. The past week i was really fed up so I decided to do 3 sessions in a row daily at 15ma and just sucked it up and withstood the pain I was previously having...and I'm glad I did that, something tells me ill have 100% dryness in about 3-5 more sessions. As soon as I do, I will post a very grateful success story, Markus. Thank you for all your help thus far.
Tip - I feel salt really does help, a tsp in each tray works wonders.
Sidebar - I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the use of iontophoresis in rheumatoid arthritis and trigger fingers (my parents suffer from these conditions)...I read dexamethasone or other steroids can be delivered via this method... |

jackal, Please tell me the settings you have in mA.
Yes you can deliver drugs in with the system, but they have to be approved for iontophoresis, ask your doc about that....

OK, this should work, so the dry and wet spots you have are a sign for a "overtreatment". I would recommend to make at least a 1 day pause between the 3x15 min. session
Or you can do half an hour a day, not more (maybe even decrease the settings a bit so that it won't hurt)...sometimes it takes time... _________________ You are welcome...
