Hey, Ive heard things about using Vaseline to cover cuts and bruises, however since Vaseline or Nivea cream or whatever you use to protect bruises get on your palms wouldn't this mean that iontophoresis no longer works since your palms no longer conduct electricity needed for iontophoresis if Vaseline gets on them?
If I put Vaseline on my hands and they get in the water, sometimes I feel the Vaseline on my palms as they may have dissolved or something into the water. Would this lead to my palms not conducting the whole time. Is this a risk or am I being paranoid. I haven't any results with iontophoresis but I've only being doing it for 3 days using a home-made setup(no I don't wish to invest)
Thank you for any reply, I wish to do iontophoresis correctly since it takes a lot of time and my hands sweat like crazy in any possible condition(I live in the UK, the weather's mainly cold - even then Niagara falls emerges....)

It is only to protect the cuts, so it is applied only in this areas and not for the whole palms

It is only to protect the cuts, so it is applied only in this areas (~ + 1cm) and not for the whole palms

However, if the Vaseline gets in the water because say, you submerge your whole finger into the water wouldn't this result in the Vaseline going into the water and this may result in it going onto your whole palm as it travels through the water and spreads.
Correct me if I am wrong, thanks I am not speaking from any scientific grounds simply just precautions : D
Thank you so much for your reply, its great to know there is help.

Simply no, the vaseline will stay in place you applied it.

Ok, thats fine.
Thanks a lot. Also is it normal for my palms to sweating literally an hour after iontophoresis?
This is my 4th day of doing it consecutively and I do 7 minutes each and reverse polarity.
My hands are deeply sweating right now after doing ionto 30 minutes ago
Thanks

This appears to be normal in the beginning when performing Iontophoresis

Hello, sorry for the repeated questions, this will be my last one
I get regular shocks when doing iontophoresis because I may accidently touch the aluminium pan.
To avoid this, I read on the internet that a cloth can be layed on the surface of the pan and I can place my hands o that instead.
Would the cloth do anything to reduce the current flowing to my hands and what type of cloth should I use?
If its too thick would it stop the current flowing or reduce the amount of current since cloths are insulators.
Thanks

Hi, sure, you can use a towel to place between your hands and the plates. Just make sure the towel is made of 100% cotton. It has to be completely wet, so the current can be delivered evenly.

I used cotton towels to reduce chance of electric shock. However, even though I used two layers of cotton towels below my hands I would still get sudden shock probably becuase of a high current going through or something.
Is there any way I can stop this - I get this even with a cotton towel and even though Im not touching the plates.

Oh ok. We do not recommend to performe iontophoresis with a homemade machine. It is too risky, and like you have already experienced, you get quite high shocks... I don't think there is a way to reduce those shocks other tahn to switch to a professional machine.
I can make you an offer for the AA DE20. This would be about 350€... if you are interested, please contact us via email!
