I bought my Hidrex PSP 1000 about a year ago, and had very good success with it until it burned my right hand. The burns became the only thing holding me back. I have stopped using ionto for the past month, and now that my hand is healed up I have began again. I am starting low and slowly working my way up to a higher voltage.

My first 5 sessions:

50% PW, 20v, 20 min
50% PW, 21v, 20 min
50% PW, 21v, 20 min
50% PW, 22v, 20 min
50% PW, 23v, 20 min

is this low voltage enough to be effective? I do have the current care lotion. I am hoping to get this figured out b/c my sweating is as bad as it has ever been currently. Any suggestions to what voltage and pulse width I should use? I have read some posts on it but I really want to avoid burns. Thanks

Hello,
How high was the current when you burned your hand? Which pulse width did you use? And with which settings did you have success? I hope you have not forgotten to lay the towels on top - if you forgot them and did not use them, this is the reason for burns! The Hidrex PSP 1000 is a powerful machine and needs towels or distance grids on top the electrodes!
Normally you can increase the current until you feel a slight current feeling, and then just reduce a little bit, so that the treatment is comfortable.
Of course, it's better to start low and slowly go higher, giving your body time to get used to the current again.
Under the following link you can find more Information on how to find the right treatment settings:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/how-to-adjust-the-perfect-pulsed-setting-for-hidrex-psp1000-t748.html
Please let us know how it goes!

I believe the current was around 35v at PW 70%. This was about what I used for success. I just purchased Nivea cream today and it made a huge difference. I have the burn spots on my skin that are very dried out and don't sweat at all. With the cream applied on those spots, I was able to get the current to 28v at 70% PW.

When I switched the red and black to where the red is on the right (my righ hand was the one that gets burned), I can only get to around 15v at 70 PW. It doesn't hurt, but it's the tingling itch that gets me. I have been using Nivea cream also. How much Nivea is enough? Thanks! (I'm about 40% dry now)

Hello,

Normally the + pole is a little bit stronger, more effective than the - pole, and on the - pole side the side effects are usually stronger than on the + side. You can find more information about when and how to change polarity under:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/how-often-do-i-have-to-change-the-polarity-t74,highlight,polarity.html
Please remember: The therapy should never hurt! You always have to listen to your body. Also, it's normal that you sometimes can stand more and sometimes less current. This depends on the body resistance, which can change everyday! The higher the resistance the lower the current. Please read the following post:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/device-doesnt-start-stays-at-0-ma-reaches-not-25-ma-max-t29.html
Concerning the cream, you should apply it only where the skin is very dry, irritated or if you have blisters, injuries or cracks.

Great info! Should I rub the cream in or should I cake it on over the dry irritated area?

It's good to apply it richly on the irritated area, you don't have to rub the cream in.

The voltage I am getting is varied, but I am progressing. Left hand is about 80% dry and Right is about %70. I am starting to notice the edges of fingers sweating more so than hands now. I am on my way to success!

Hello,
Thank you for your update.
Nice to hear about your progress! First try to get dry the palms, once the palms are dry you can try to get dry the other parts, like the edges of your fingers, as described in the following posts:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/how-high-shall-i-fill-in-the-water-in-the-trays-t145.html
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/viewtopic,p,4713.html#4713
What about the feet? Are they dry?

Soles of feet are dry I believe, but everything else still sweaty badly. Left hand is 100% dry (minus around fingers), and right hand is around 80% (fingers aren't dry yet and around fingers not dry). I believe I need to start looking into the cloth glove/sock use.

Hello!
Ok. That's not bad... If the soles are dry, you can try to start with the maintenance treatment:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/introduction-to-iontophoresis-maintenance-treatment-t25.html
Concerning the hands, it would be probably good to try with the washcloth or gloves method:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/how-high-shall-i-fill-in-the-water-in-the-trays-t145.html
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/whole-hands-not-dry-t1394,highlight,gloves.html
Let us know how it goes..

Thank you again for all your help! My soles of feet are dry. I am beginning maintenance treatment on soles of feet (took 28 days to get 100% so now 42 days of every other day treatment.)

My right hand has just a little bit left to get dry. My first question: Should I keep the positive red plate on my right hand since my left is completely dry? I have been switching polarity every 7 days.

My other question regarding the cloth/sock method: Do I need to treat the sides of fingers/feet separate from the usual treatment for soles of feet and palms of hands?

You are welcome!
Yes, you can try to keep the positive pole to the right hand (wich is not completely dry yet), since the positive pole is a little bit stronger.
You can start using the wet cloth/gloves/socks during the usual treatment for soles and palms first.
Only if this won't be enough, you can do extra treatments.
Keep us updated. Smile

Giving an update on my situation-

I stopped treatment last year in September due to burns on my hands. I was very discouraged by this and did not use ionto anymore. I had the botox injections in my armpits and hands in July. They did not work for my hands, but did work to an extent with my armpits.

Ionto is by far the best treatment option for hyperhidrosis. Here is my log of ionto since I started back using it. I am trying to be careful not to dry out my hands and burn them. Also, my hands are about 85% dry right now:

2015 Ionto:
(+,-)
8/10 Hands: 21v, 15min,70
8/11 Hands: 19v, 15min,70
8/12 Hands: 21v, 15min,70
8/13 Hands: 22v, 15min,70
8/14 Hands: 22v, 15min,70
8/15 Hands: 24v, 15min,70
8/16 Hands: 26v, 15min,70

(-,+)
8/17 Hands: 23v, 15min,70
8/18 Hands: 25v, 15min,70
8/19 Hands: 27v, 15min,70
8/20 Hands: 28v, 15min,70
8/21 Hands 30v, 15 min,70
8/22 Hands 28v, 15 min,70
8/23 Hands 28v, 15 min,70

(+,-)

8/24 Hands 27v, 15 min,70
8/25 Hands 26v, 15 min,70
8/26Hands 27v, 15 min,70
8/27 Hands 24v, 15 min,70

I will write success story when I achieve 100% dryness here shortly.

If you switch to 60% then maybe you can handle more current, and maximum 36 Volts
maximum 60 Volts with hundred percent, each 10% lower reduces the maximum possible voltage to 6 Volts each step
the pulse width you can stand the higher current, is the one you should prefer
this can be 50,60,70,80 or 90%

I once again had to pause treatment to let hands heal. My hands always burn/irritate which causes me to take a few months break. I will swap to 60%, and will aim for 20v for 15 minute treatments. I have to prevent the burns to have success.

I have had botox for my armpits and this works very well, would recommend. I will keep this thread updated as progress is made.

for your case we would really suggest to take https://www.iontodevice.com/iontophoresis/current-care.html - iontophoresis aftercare... to bring down, or prevent possible pauses

I have been and still continue to use Current Care. This time I have only been able to use 60% at 20v and yet my hands still irritate to the point of being unable to continue treatment.

what if you switch to 50% and take a closer look to https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/how-to-adjust-the-perfect-pulsed-setting-for-hidrex-psp1000-t748.html
normally it is oterhwise (the lower the puls width the higher the currents)

the feet are still dry?
seems there is something wrong with the basics - maybe i can call you up, or you just fill out this:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/iontophoresis-i-lost-my-success-and-sweating-starts-again-t1366.html

with only regards to the hands - please mention something about the success you have had for the sweaty feet
