Hi,
I just received my Hidrex PSP1000 two days ago and already had 2 treatments for my hands with the default settings:
15min; 20V; 90% PW

It seems fine but as I was reading the manual and many posts on this forum I still have some concerns:
1. Is it true to say that the higher the Voltage the higher the dryness effect? (As long as it doesn't hurt me, of course).
2. I couldn't understand what is the recommended time for each session. Should I keep going with 15 min for each session or is it too low? What is the maximum time for a session?
3. The manual is saying that during the Initial Phase I should do 3 weekly sessions but it seems to me that many people here do more than 3 weekly sessions. So again, what is the recommended procedure here and what are the limitations?

All in all I feel there are too many variables in the treatment - Time, Voltage, PW - So I'm not sure what is the right combination so I can achieve the best effect.

Thanks,
Assaf.

Hello assafi,

thank you for contacting us.
Don't worry, iontophoresis is a very individual therapy but we will do our best to support you during the treatment so you can achieve the best effect!

1. Normally yes, however the therapy should never hurt! Everyone has to find the "right" treatment setting listening to his /her body. You always have to treat with comfortable settings.
If you feel comfortable with the default settings, it's ok, but you can also try with a lower pulse width:
https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/how-to-adjust-the-perfect-pulsed-setting-for-hidrex-psp1000-t748.html
With a lower pulse width you will probably be able to reach a higher voltage.

2. Normally 15-20 minutes a day are enough. If after about 2-3 weeks you still have not reached dryness, it's possible to increase the treatment time. Some people treat for about 30-40 minutes. The maximum time for a session is about 1 hour per day.
Also, it's possible to compensate lower current settings with longer treatment sessions.

3. Generally it's important to treat daily until the excessive sweating stops (initial therapy). Then you can start with the maintenance treatment and gradually reduce the frequency of the treatments.
You can find more Information about this under the following links:

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed answer.
Should I be focusing on getting the highest Voltage possible at the expense of pulse-width and/or treatment time?

Thanks again.

the settings you can reach the highest voltage (no matter if it is 50,60,70,80 or 90% pulse) is the most effective way to reduce sweating

this will also bring down treatment times to a minimum

So what is the importance of the pulse width in the treatment?

Assaf.

If you can not reduce the pulse width you can not reach higher voltages.
Just try a lower pulse width and let us know how many V you can reach.

The less pulse - the less sensation and irritation
The less pulse, the lower the maximum current
E.g. At 50% pulse mostly only the half of the max current the machine could deliver at a setting of 100% is conducted into the skin ... So a maximum of 30 volt can mostly not be exceeded

Not sure you are right, unless I'm missing something.
The pulse width defines the how much percentage of the time is spent on electric current.
Therefore, 50% means that 50% of the time the device is pulsing and 50% of the time it is paused.
