Hi Markus,
I'm a little desperate here and I hope you can help me out. I've purchased Idromed 5 PC 3 years ago and it I've had no problems with it. 100% dry hands when I'm sticking to the treatment. However, my hands got really sweaty for 3 weeks now. I didn't change places, so the water should be the same. I do 15 mins on each polarity. I've been adding baking powder and salt hoping it would increase the effectiveness but nothing so far. I've been doing the session daily for 2 weeks now and it doesn't seem to get better. I've cleaned the plates, too. What do you think is happening? Is the device not effective anymore (too old)? I really appreciate your help. Thanks. |

Initial therapy finished since: Can't remember and I'm doing a daily treatment for 2 weeks now

How long did the Initial therapy take (in days) ?: 2 weeks
How many times in the week do you treat , how Long and at which current rate? Everyday at 25
Have you changed anything in your maintenance Treatments since doing 2 times your personal initial therapy (Treatment strength, frequency, time ) ? No.
Has something changed in your Lifestyle since the double Initial time? Everything is important (Lifestyle, mental, emotional, medications, piercings, tatoos, alcohol, drugs, family situation... anything else)? I workout harder than before.
Has anything else changed (weather, food, job, etc. Have you done something extraordinary) in your behavior or mental bio Feeling/rhythm? Nothing much. Just stress.
Have you moved since you lost success? No.
Have you recently installed a water softener, or any kind of water filter or water treatment (ionic/osmosis, etc.) in your house? No.
Do you take any nutrition supplements like vitamins? Whey Protein and Omega 3.
Skin care: If you use a skin cream, which one do you use? No.
Do you take any oral medication (any kind, like Vagatin, Aspirin, etc.)? No.
Do you still have the feeling that the current is present,? Yes.
Did something change regarding the quality of your water? Not that I know of. I'm also using mineral water mixed with tap water (50/50), salt and baking soda to increase effectiveness.

Just to be sure about the water, maybe you could ask your local water supplier if there have been any changes in the water.
You mentioned stress - this could also be a factor that is affecting your success. If its possible, maybe you can try to reduce the stress factors.
Another idea would be to increase the daily treatment time for a while. So for example if you have been treating 15 min per day, you could increase to 30 minutes.

| Checking with the local water supplier is not really an option where I live. I'm already doing 30 min treatments. |

Nope, you're not stuck. We'll figure out a way to get the therapy working again!!
What kind of mineral water are you using? Can you get VOLVIC water? We've had many customers who have had success with this special type of bottled water. Leave out the baking soda and the salt.

Thank you. I live in Cairo, Egypt and I've never noticed Volvic here. I'll try to look for it around.
I'm using half tap water and half Dasani.
That's the contents of Dasani (mg/L):
Calcium 32
Magnesium 8
Sodium 14
Potassium 2.2
Bicarbonate 134
Sulphate 13
Chlorides 14
Silicate 10
T.D.S 170
I'll stop using salt and baking soda as you advised. |

It could be that your hands are getting immuned to the electric current.
I've been using iontophresis for 14 years or so and I'm having probelms as well.
I think I'm going to try botox for awhile and then come back to using iontophresis. |

I have been using your Idromed since January 2013.
I have documented my time and sessions.
I have steadily had to go up in current to keep my hands dry.
I had my hands completely dry using 20ma (using same current for 4 months) 20ma does it not work anymore? Why?
My typical schedule is 5 times a week at 30 minutes.
Nothing has changed in my diet or water or anything.
I have cleaned the electrodes with vinager per your instructions.
Is my skin becoming immuned to the current? |

Sometimes users experience that they need more and sometimes less Iontophoresis treatment time or current (both multiplied you can also say "dose" to it) to remain dryness.
The idea behind going up with the current is to raise the dose and through this,to lower the frequency or treatment times of Iontophoresis .
If a user is in a phase where he needs more dosage, he can raise the current (Volt or mA) or treat longer (or both) - if going higher with the current causes pain, discomfort, skin or other problems the only chance would be to treat more or more often.

Your not answering my previous question. Your talking I riddles.
15 ma used to work and keep hands dry.
17ma used to work and keep hands dry.
19ma used to work and keep hands dry.
20 ma used to work and keep hands dry.
There is no going down in current to make hands dry.
I have increased ma to keeps Hands dry.
Again there is no going down in current.
I hope u understand what I'm saying now.
I'm using 22 to 23 ma now and it seems like it is barely keeping my hands dry.
I already do 30 minutes x 5 times week.
What will happen when I can't go up in current anymore?
When I max out at 25ma?
Please try to understand I think my skin is getting used to the current. |

I have never told you to go down, I taught you the principle of this.
We are not doctors so I can't tell you that you should do it like this or that.
After you have understood the principle , it is up to you to find the best routine for yourself.
Also, you talk about things that must be verified: when I am at the end of the current what can I do (the principle would tell you to treat then longer or more often).
So you are not at the end of the current scale.... and, so sorry: but I am not a fortune teller - I cannot tell you what will happen or IF something would, could or should be or not. If I could I would have surely another Job 
However, I understand your concerns of getting immune to Iontophoresis, but as I told you before: there is no known case of someone becoming immune to Iontophoresis. If the treatments stop working then it has always been due to simple things . There are also solutions to these problems . When you´ve really lost your success from Iontophoresis and have no chance to go higher with the current---- treating more often could help.

You said above sometimes more and less time or current.
It sounds like to me less was said.
Anyway not trying to argue with you, but trying to find a solution.
You don't think it could be the electrodes getting old? |

If you have "only" aluminium ones and they are 14 years old it is maybe time to change if the electrodes are heavily scratched. However: you are not on the maximum that the device can deliver, so changing them will not give you more power.
Maybe the cords have worn out, maybe you have "acid" water that affects copper - a lot of maybes, and this would maybe lead to the solution . You have to buy something before you can determine this, and it is not in our interest to sell you "maybes".
When you are at the Iontophoresis power edge we will surely suggest you to try this, but not before when it has obviously no impact...

The electrodes would only be 9 months old.
I was saying I have been doing iontophresis for 14 yrs.

Update: My hands are dry again. I've been doing a 30 min session on daily basis and now my hands are 95% dry. Please note that my Hyperhidrosis is severe.
What did I do? I changed the plates and used 50% bottled water 50% tap water.
It might not be it but I plan on changing and cleaning the plates more often now. |
