Hi there,

I have used Iontophoresis for a while, previously i had used an old Idrostar machine.

Then moved on to the Hidrex GS400.

I think i used the Hidrex machine around twice, two full treatments before the problem of sore, red, itchy palms started to appear. the skin then began to start peeling off from one corner and moving to the tips of the fingers. I was prescribed, "Betamethasone valerate", a steroid cream, for them by the doctor.

My hands have stopped peeling on the most part but does occasionally start appearing in areas. I just tried to start another go of treatment last time and now my hand is glowing red and the other symptoms as previously described.

Any ideas what i can do to stop this? stopping treatment isn't really an option.

Thanks

Hello,

Please note that the Hidrex GS400 is much more powerful than the Idrostar machine! At the beginning it's very important to start with lower settings and only slowly increase paying attention to the reaction of the body. The therapy should never hurt and the skin should remain in good conditions.
Also, we always recommend to take a Pulsed Current device! Please find more information under:

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately it's a bit late to change device. I'll try turning settings down, but i should note than i previously used around 34 mA on my first treatments, it's down at around 27 now. Any less it doesn't "tingle" the skin / i can't feel it.

Is there anything else i can do, creams etc...?

I am sure that it is not. Ask your retailer to top up the machine, if he does not want to do this, we can do this for a price, but first go to the place where you bought it.... we do not want to take away customers from other retailers.
