Dear Admin,

Good day. I have a question about the iontophoresis devices with pulsed current (PC) mode. I have been using a DC device for a while now but I could not tolerate more than 11 mAs DC current. I read in your forum that devices with PC, reduce the electric current perception so I can tolerate higher currents, which seems perfect for me.
I have done a little thinking and I wonder how this would be. If I want to set the same 11mAs with PC instead of DC, wouldn’t the device have to generate twice the voltage compared to DC, so that it can generate the same current (with 50% PC)?
In other words, I think if resistance of my skin is 2kohm, a DC device would need to generate 22 Volts in order to make 11mAs. But if half the time it’s off (as in 50% PC) it has to generate 44 Volts, so that the average voltage is 22 volts and makes the same 11mAs.

And if this is true, wouldn’t it be the same “average” voltage and the same current, and so wouldn’t I feel the same electric current perception as in DC devices?

Sorry for a long question, and thank you for helping me.

With a machine that only provides 50% pulse you are right. The Hidrex can be adjusted from 50 to 90% in 10% steps, , so with 90% you "only" loose 10 % or 6 Volts in the maximum 60Volts the machein can delver @ 2kOhms
