Hi,

I bought the machine from you over 4 years ago.
This year I am using it over a month and I see zero progress.
I do one hour a day, the maximum current I can tolerate is around 10mA
Because of the current I get small cuts in my feet so I have to cover them with Vaseline.
It is possible that the machine is not working as it used to be ?
Is it possible that this treatment doesn't effective for me as it used to be ?

Regards,

Nir

Hello Nir,

I recall that you have a DC machine right? We always recommend a PC machine, since the therapy is much more comfortable with it. I know you had ordered the Idromed 5 PC, but you send it back since you were not satisfied with it.
You say that you can tolerate only 10 mA with the machine you actually have. It might be possible, that you need more than 10mA to become dry. So you can keep on treating with this machine, but you might never see a result, no matter how often and how long you treat, because you need more than 10 mA. With another machine, a pulsed current machine, you most likely will be able to go higher than 10 mA. This will definitely increase your chances of getting success.
I don't think that it's the machine that isn´t working anymore. As long as you feel the tingling sensation, then there is a current flow and the machine is working fine. If you once had success with iontophoresis, you will probably have it again.

You can open a new post under 'Active problems' and answer the following questions there:
-------
- What type of device are you using (manufactorer/model)?
- What areas are you treating (hands, feet, hands+feet together, armpit, other areas)?
- Do you treat them with direct current or pulsed current?
--------
For every treated area we need to know:

- Initial Treatment was done every day?
- For how many days (overall treatment days)?
- Were there breaks during the Initial Treatment (in days)?
- How long is the treatment time (in minutes for each session)?
- How high is the current for each treated area (please clarify if current is shown in mA or Voltage)?
- In %, how much better is the sweating than before starting the therapy?
Only when using the Hidrex PSP1000
- How high is the Pulse Width set for each treated area?
--------
- Does the therapy hurt in parts of the treated areas? And if yes, where?
- Describe the feeling?
- Have you got blisters, injuries or cracks on the skin (please describe where, how many)?
- What do you use to cover them?
- If you cover them, does it hurt anyway?
--------
Only for hand and feet treatment:
- Do treat hands and feet simultaneously?
- Where do you sweat exactly (soles/sides/top ...)?
- How high is the water in the trays?
- Do you regularly use creme on your hands or feet? If yes, what kind of creme?
--------
- Do you use supplements in the water like soda or salt?
- Do you take any nutrition supplements like vitamins?
- Skin care: If you take cream, wich one do you use?
- Do you take any oral medication (any kind, like Vagatin, Aspirin, etc.)
--------
- Have you tried Iontophoresis before? If yes, where (clinic, at home)?
- If yes, did you have success?
- If yes, what kind of device was it?
- Have you moved since then or have you moved since you started the therapy with the actual device?
- Did something change regarding the quality of your water?
- Did you install a water softener in your house?
--------

Thank you for the quick reply.
What is the minimal effective current I have to use ?
I don't think I can tolerate 25 mA.

This I can´t say, because it is very individual and different for each person.
But it is possible that, if you have been treating with 10mA for over a month without success, you need more than these 10 mA to have success. So the next step would be to try and increase the current. But if you have a DC machine and can´t tolerate more than 10 mA, then it might be a good idea to think about changing to a pulsed current machine. With a PC machine you will most likely be able to tolerate higher currents.
Did you take a look at the new machine from Hidrex, the Hidrex PSP1000? I think this machine might be good for you.

You said you had success once with the machine you currently have. Which settings did you use then? How often, how long did you treat? How high was the curretn?

I had success until this year.
I can go as high as 10mA, 1 hour a day, I started over a month.
I remember that last year I treated with 15mA and it helped me.
The problem is that I cant Tolerate so high.but I see that have to make the extra effort and reach 15mA.

I have the DC machine.
I ordered the PC machine and used it for almost 2 months,
I didn't felt different between the DC and the PC and didn't able to reach high mA with the PC.

Ok, so if you first had success with 15 mA, you will need again at least 15 mA to have success again.
Like I said, take look at the Hidrex PSP1000, this is a very good and very comfortable machine.
