Hello,
100% cotton socks would be great, but 80-95% cotton should be enough. You also can cover the parts you're planning to treat with a simple (wet) cotton towel.
I can not imagine that certain materials would deteriorate the electrodes.

Hi
I wanted to try treating higher on my feet to cover ankles and heels and was planning to use socks.
From what I have read it sounded like cotton socks were the way to go.
Unfortunately it seems the world has stopped producing 100% cotton socks... I thought these were easy to find but it turns out they're unavailable in all the shops and online searching I've done.

Is 80-95% cotton good enough?

What other materials would be best as a blend?

I guess some are better or worse than others due to being electrical insulators.
I wasn't sure if some materials may stick to the electrodes or deteriorate after repeated use.
Thanks
