It is the same principle, but you have to take much more care because of the thin skin of the armpits. Like most of the questions in the field Iontophoresis, you have to face the fact that : the electrotherapy against sweat is highly individual and differs also highly. You can increase the current in regards to a good healthy skin condition, so it is a good idea to test it by and by with slightly higher currents and control the skin condition after 1 or 2 minutes of treatment. If the skin is ok - shows no redness- you can increase the time by 1-2 minutes, after this I would controll the skin once again for irritations.
If the skin is not ok, wait till the skin is proper again, then reduce the current to a level where you have no irritations.
The armpits are very sensitive, so you have to take much more care. One person has thick skin and can stand a lot current, the other not, in both cases a tingling sensation is the sign that you use too much current on the skin, in which case the current has to be lowered to the "non-tingling" level.
We have a more detailed shedule here -->

Post subject: What's the right current for armpit treatments?
Is the iontophoresis armpit treatment works the same as the feet and hands treatment, meaning that I have to increase the current until I feel tingling and then lower it down again? or treatments on the armpit should be conducted on 2-3 mA regardless of any tingling sensations?
