I purchased my Idromed 5 about 10 months ago. It's very effective but I have trouble using it consistently because of pain issues. I will often have cuts & callouses on my hands from work and I think my water is very high in minerals (well water) and I think it's one or a combination of the two that causes very sharp pain in localized spots even at low current settings (5 mA). I was just wondering if my unit was DC or PC and if it's DC, should I consider switching to PC to relieve some of the pain issues?
My unit is labeled Idromed 5 GS on the front and it says Art No. 100001 on the back. Thank you. |

Dear jacob13,
Your unit is a direct current unit. GS stands for GleichStrom, which means direct current.
I am sure that with a pulsed current unit, the treatment would be much more comfortable.
For now, you can cover the cuts and callouses with vaseline or nivea creme to prevent form hurting so much.
