I am a customer willing to buy either the PS or the GS version of Idromed. I've read that the PS version is more effective and less painful, but my question is since it uses pulsed current, would the overall effectiveness be less than that of a device that uses direct current like the GS version? Do trials have really shown that the PS works better? What would you personally recommend as the best device?

Many thanks for your interest in our products!

That's right, we always recommend taking a PULSED CURRENT (PC) device, for hands treatment but even for treatment of feet and especially for axilar treatment. Under this link you´ll find more information about this topic: https://www.iontodevice.com/hyperhidrosis/iontophoresis-pulsed-current-better-than-direct-current-t139.html , https://www.iontodevice.com/tap-water-iontophoresis.htm

The advantage of a PC / PS device it that, due to the fact that pulsed current is less painful, you will be able to reach higher treatment settings and therefore better results in less time (higher settings normally imply shorter treatments). To get success with Iontophoresis, everyone has to pass a determinate current setting for the treatment to work, everyone has to pass his own "turnover point": this is really individual, someone may need only 1-2 mA for the treatment to work, but others need 25 mA... With a pulsed current device it's easier to reach and pass your individual border, that's why the overall effectiveness of a PC device won't be less than of a DC one!

Regarding the feeling due to the current flow, 5 mA of direct current correspond to about 25 mA of pulsed current. If you may need 10 mA of direct current to get success, but you can stand only 8-9 mA because of the pain, you will never reach dryness with a DC device! Of course, if you may need about 25 mA of direct current to stop sweating, you won't get success with a PC device, but that is really very rare!
